1. Acceptance
By downloading or using FieldLingo ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of service
FieldLingo is a language-learning application offering lessons, AI conversation practice, pronunciation scoring, and spaced-repetition review for Thai and Khmer (and other languages as added). The core lesson track is free. Advanced features require a Premium subscription.
3. User accounts
The App uses an anonymous device identifier — no email or password is required. You are responsible for keeping your device secure. We are not liable for access by unauthorised parties using your device.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Premium subscriptions and one-time add-ons are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. All purchases are subject to the relevant store's refund policy. We do not issue refunds outside the store's process. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer the App; use the AI conversation feature to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content; attempt to bypass rate limits or access controls; or resell or sublicense the App.
6. AI-generated content
Roleplay conversations are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI. Responses may occasionally be inaccurate or unexpected. AI responses do not constitute professional language instruction and should not be relied upon for official, legal, or safety-critical communication.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and original content are owned by the developer. Phrase content is sourced from public-domain and open-licence materials (FSI, Peace Corps, Tatoeba CC0). You may not reproduce or distribute the App's content without permission.
8. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You can view it in the App under Profile → Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of language content, uninterrupted service, or any specific learning outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via an in-app notice.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is registered. Disputes shall be resolved by the courts of that jurisdiction.
